Monsoon rains cause floods in Thailand

Months of heavy monsoon rain has caused major flooding in Thailand and parts of neighboring Vietnam and Cambodia. In Thailand  370+ lives have been lost so far with heavy rains continuing to damage the strained levees of Bangkok's Chao Phraya River, where Thailand officials keep a watchful eye on the weakend banks.

Hurricane Rina Weakens....

Hurricane Rina is currently weakening but hanging in there with sustained winds of 85mph and a slow progression of only 6mph.. Tourists are lining up to leave the areas where this storm is expected to make landfall.  Hurricane warnings are in effect for the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, north of Punta Gruesa down to Cancun. Quintana Roo Gov. Roberto Borge Angulo, has ordered the evacuation of all residents and tourists in Isla Holbox. Area schools and businesses have closed in preparation for the storm.  Northwestern Cuba should be witnessing storm affects by the weekend.
